christmas
We decided to go to Mom's house for dinner, despite the fact that we knew Ass would be there, among other family members we
The downside of the day was that I had to work. I had a late shift (as I always do), so it wasn't so bad....just people mostly looking for movie times, liquor stores (aren't they closed on the holiday?), and relatives they KNOW are in the phonebook (they weren't). At one point I wanted to pull out my hair, tie it around my neck and choke myself with it. Yay.
So how was your Christmas?

super woman
When I came back, Joey was ready to go the ER. He was having pain in a tooth since Sunday--one that broke a few months ago while eating a chip. Turns out it was abscessed, so he got it treated--they drained it...he cried. He got a morphine shot afterwards...woohoo. He was fun the rest of the day--laughing at the stupidest things, walking all wobbly, etc. Good times.
Then we came home, and I came on here to read and stuff. Then I had to work my corner again. After that, I had to make cookies for Dude's Christmas party today (kind of a waste, since the kids didn't have school...more on that later). Then we had to get ready for Bum's Christmas concert...I was in charge of the refreshments, so I had to be there early. We went, had fun, heard some good music, and watched a bunch of fifth-grade kids and families go nuts for cupcakes, cookies, and drinks. Within 20 minutes, there was virtually nothing left of five pounds of cookies, a full sheet cake, loads of other goodies, and drinks. But I did good...yay.
Finally, when it was all over, I took the mom-in-law home, then went home myself. It was about 9pm by this time...bedtime for the kids! Then I realized I still had to get Joey's meds...had to pay about $60 for those, since he has no insurance. I keep telling him, all he has to do is sign a piece of paper (marriage certificate)--then I can put him on my insurance. No way, he says. Oh well...lol.
And that was my day. Whew...I'm tired just typing it.

annoying
The immaturity of this person reminds me of my kids...hell, she puts my kids to shame--and they're more than half her age. My kids have more consideration and appreciation than this person does--they can teach her a thing or two.
Why? Well, she has a car with major problems, and about 3 months ago she decided to take it to her friend's house--about three hours away. It broke down, and she hasn't got it back yet. So now she depends mostly on co-workers to get back and forth to work. The one time I brought her in, she was quiet the whole time...ok, maybe she wasn't in a good mood. Nope--the minute she walks into work, she perked right up as if nothing was wrong. The ride home wasn't any better--she spent the entire ride (about 30 minutes) on her phone. How rude! Of course, I never gave her a ride again. That wasn't the only reason though--my car isn't in the best condition. I don't like to overload it...meaning I'll only give one person a ride. One night, someone else asked me and I said ok. "Pathetic" had already secured a ride, but was able to leave early, so she asked me. I told her no, since I had told someone else I would. She got pissed off, then stormed off. When we went out to the car, she was out there having a cigarette. We said bye to her, and we got the silent treatment. That was the end of that...or so I thought.
I have been getting said silent treatment for the past two months and counting. Unless you count the snapping of her fingers at me to get my attention. GRRRR...that so aggravates me. The first time she did that was for a ride (nope, since I had to pick up my nieces and nephews on the way home), then again the other day to tell me something she did on MySpace involving me. Wonder if she realizes I deleted her from my friends list? LOL.
She doesn't take her job too seriously, either. I've told you what I do for a living...you sit there for 8 hours, with a headset on, taking requests from customers looking for phone numbers. The calls come fast and are over quick. And you can't have your cell phone on. At all. Anyhoo, a couple weeks ago my manager comes up to me and asks me about getting yelled at for texting. Huh? What the hell is she talking about? I tell her no, and she tells me someone told her that. Hmmmm...I wonder. Coincidentally, the day before, I told a mutual friend about how I saw "Pathetic" talking on her phone while she was online (and ignoring customers) a few times, along with texting. Stupid me shouldn't have done that--as soon as I was done talking to her, she went back and told "Pathetic" what I said. Probably went and told my manager what she did to cover her own ass. That way, in case I did go tattle, it would look like I was doing it because she did it first. Oh well...
So that's my story...feel free to comment. I'll update if anything new comes out of this.

turkey day
About three weeks before Thanksgiving, Mom found out that she was going to need a pacemaker, and was going in for surgery soon after the holiday. Everyone in the family is concerned, but okay with it--we all knew it was coming. The exception being Ass.
Late that night he came to our house (drunk), demanding to talk to Joey. I met Ass at the door, telling him that Joey was sleeping (which he was). He then started shouting at me, trying to tell me Joey was cheating on me, that I didn't care that mom was going for surgery, that I was the reason for her condition (by my kids visiting her--he claims I pawn them off--actually, she cries when they don't come), etc. (Joey, in the meantime, was awoken by the yelling, but didn't come out, only because if he did, he would have just knocked Ass down the steps, resulting in him going to jail.) Then the kicker--he tells me he's going to get a shotgun, and kill our family. I had my phone in my hand with the police dialed, and was just about to hit "send" when a cop was at the bottom my the steps. Turns out Joey called them from in the house when he heard all the yelling, knowing full well who it was outside. Ass turned into a big baby when the cops came...whatever. They arrested him for drunk and disorderly, and his girlfriend (who was with him) bailed him out.
The next morning, while we were getting the kids ready for school, the phone rang. I answered...it was Ass again, saying again what he had said last night, about the gun. I called the cops this time, and they came to the house and took a statement...they're pressing harrassment charges, and we're going to court soon.
Fast forward to Turkey Day. Ass was going to be at Mom's house, as well as another family member we'd rather not be around. So we opted to cook dinner at home, complete with turkey and all the fixins. Even pumpkin pie. Yum. As for Mom, she called once to talk to the kids, boohooed a little, and that was it. A nice, relaxing day eating lots of food, watching football, and spending time with the kids. Couldn't ask for a better holiday.
As for Mom, she had the surgery...all went well, and she's doing a-ok.

my arm was twisted.
--got a second job...
--did 2 birthday parties, including a sleepover (you think I would've learned from the 1st one)
--did Turkey Day at home...that's an entry in itself--both the day and the reason we stayed home
--didn't transfer my private blog from AOL, so everything will be out in the open now.
Let me start by saying I have been reading, just not commenting...I'm officially a lurker these days. I've been totally busy, with both jobs, the kids, and sleeping. Actually, the only reason I'm on here tonight is because it's my day off...from one job, anyway.
What's the new job, you ask? I'm a crossing guard at the school. It's not an easy job to come by, but this one pretty much fell into my lap. The person who was doing it got a new job...she knew me, knew I was available, and she needed me to do it for her the very next day. Of course I said yes...who the hell would turn down a $20 per hour job?!? I mean, it's only an hour a day total, and it totally works with my schedule at Verizon. Yeah, I'm still there too, driving 40 miles round trip each day...for 13 bucks an hour plus fully paid benefits, can't stop doing that one either. The only downside of the crossing guard job is the weather...standing out there in the cold and rain and snow...it sucks. In fact, the first day I did it, it was awful--cold, wind, and a rain/snow mix. But it's okay...I like seeing the kids in the morning--their smiles make it SO worth it.
Hmmm...what was next--oh yeah, the birthday parties. Acutally, they both went pretty good. We downsized this year, due to the fact that we're broke..lol. Bum had a few friends over, along with the family...all went well with that. Dude had his video game slumber party--meaning we moved his Wii out into the living room, so he and his friends could play on the big screen. That went better than expected, since her sleepover two years ago wasn't pretty.
Speaking of the
As for the transfer, you can see that I didn't have a problem with that. I didn't transfer the

blog the recession
My job dealt me one hell of a blow a few weeks ago...well, actually my union. Our union contract with Verizon runs out at midnight this Sunday, and as of today, they still haven't reached an agreement for a new one. Which means...you guessed it--strike. Woo-effin-hoo. It involves about 70,000 employees up and down the east coast...maybe more.

The picures in the last two entries basically sum up where I've been the past few days. We had one wicked ass storm come through here on Saturday, and the tree behind our house (well, front, depending on how you look at it...) was blown over. Literally...I saw it swaying in the breeze--thought I was seeing things, since this tree was about two feet in diameter. It fell in the direction of the street...I was afraid to look out the window, since the car was parked out there. Joey looked instead, and saw this:
Yup--that close. Not only did our car get spared, but the neighbors did too:
Not only that, but our neighbors downstairs were parked in the exact spot the tree came down...luckily they went somewhere just minutes before this happened. The tree was so big, it blocked the entire street for most of the night.
It kinda brought the electrical lines down, but there was power still going to the house. In fact, PPL (the electric company) didn't get to the house until about 2:30am (this happened around 5:30pm), and didn't shut the power off until about 6am. Go figure--turns out they didn't have to--the lines were fine--all they had to do was reattach them to the house, and everything would have been ok. The power didn't wasn't restored until Monday afternoon (the entry below)--that's when we realized the phone lines were down too...just the cordless and the DSL...lol. That didn't get fixed until this afternoon.
So here we are...back to normal, just with this in our yard:
Who knows how long that's gonna be there.

update
Just updating...Brayden's been off the blanket since last week...his bilirubin levels went seriously down...that's a good thing! Yay! He's more awake now...I can just stare into his eyes...lol.
There's some good news for me too...went to WIC this morning--they had to weigh me. I was anticipating this...I was 168 when I got pregnant...174 a week before I had Brayden...I now weigh...wait for it.....
151!!!!!!!!!
Damn right...I lost 23 pounds. Woo-effin-hoo!!!
Bad news...I still haven't got my last paycheck from work...from two weeks ago...meh.

pics and stuff
Finally added a pic to the sidebar today. Finally getting around to writing an entry. Been so tired lately...including today, since I've been up since, oh, about 4:30 this morning. YAY.
We came home on Saturday...just in time for Joey's communion party. Yup--only spent a day and a half in the hospital. I didn't want to be there any longer than I had to. In fact, my OB said I looked so good on Friday afternoon, he would have discharged me then...HAHAHA. I guess I bounced back quick. Now just my boobs (from breastfeeding and then stopping) and back (from the epidural) hurt. But other than that, it's like I wasn't even pregnant...I don't even look like I was...woohoo!
About the labor...ugh. NINE HOURS. Ouch. I finally got an epidural around 3am...man, that moved things along. When the nurse put the baby monitor back on my tummy, she couldn't find his heartbeat...uh oh. The OB came in, and did an internal monitor. That's when they realized something was wrong--every time I would have a contraction, his heart rate would drop. They were thisclose to doing an emergency c-section. But instead, they wanted me to trying pushing him out. Two pushes later (literally), there he was. Found out later they had a hard time getting him to breathe...about 3 or 4 nurses were around him...from what Joey told me, it looked like he was trying to cry, but nothing was coming out. Anyhoo, here we are.
I know--what the hell is that in the above pic?!? That's a Wallaby blanket, which is an ultraviolet fiberoptic light. It's used when jaundice doesn't go away on its own. Brayden's in there, and it's supposed to get rid of the bilirubin (bile) in his system. He only has to use it for a day or two--the jaundice should clear up by then. Good thing the insurance covers that. He kinda looks like a blue E.T. if you ask me...lol.
Now that you're all caught up, I have to go feed Brayden...until sometime during the night...lol. *yawn*

Just writing a quick entry to let everyone know that me and Brayden are doing ok. He was born at 3:29am, he weighed in at 7 pounds even, and 19 1/2 inches long. I'll write more about him when I get home...hopefully tomorrow.

I'm beginning to think my tummy's one hell of a nice, comfy place to be...this baby doesn't want to come out either. Bum was 10 days late, Dude was 14. As for this one, yesterday was my due date, and it came and went. At the latest, he'll be here by this weekend. Whenever he decides to come out and say hi, I'll post a pic as soon as I can. Let's hope it's sooner....

random thoughts...
Last night I was bored at work...and wrote down what was going through my mind at the time...mainly one big rant...lol.
"I hate these calls--they suck. Next time give me the whole damn name or the right f*cking city. People are a**holes. Good thing I'm getting an extended vacation in 12 working days. No wait--11 more days of work! It seriously can't go by fast enough...I'm getting tired of these calls. Tired of old ladies yelling at me, then telling me their life story. Stupid people. People calling to find out which post office is open. Dumb people who don't have a clue as to what they're looking for. Stupid people who swear 411 knows why the number they dial isn't working. Drunk people trying to find out where their damn car was towed to."
Like I said, I was ranting. You can tell it was last night because of the post office thing--literally every other call was for the post office--they don't post the hours in directory (just like in the phone book) and usually the only number we have is the toll free one...lol. And I constantly get people asking me what's wrong with a phone number--that's something the operator does (I think, anyway). And I did get a call last night asking which tow company the police use...and she sounded like she was drunk and looking for her car.
The next two weeks can't go by fast enough. My last day is April 30, if not sooner. I did get made a permanent employee, but it's a little bittersweet--meaning I still have to make the 45 minute drive to work everyday. And usually not getting home until about midnight or later. I dunno--maybe it's just me, but I can't stand it there. I'm miserable there. Maybe I'll transfer out of there when I come back from maternity leave...after all--I can, now that I'm a permanent employee. Maybe we'll move somewhere else in general...we'll see.

hellooooooooooooo.....
Where did everyone go? I know I've been a little lax on the commenting...cut me a little slack--from the previous entry, I've had a lot going on lately...I barely had time (or the energy) to post (and there's more than just that...). Don't get me wrong, I have been reading.....I'm still here...are you? I feel lonely......boohoo.....sniff sniff....helloooo?
til next time...
three weeks and counting...
Well, actually it's three weeks and two days, but who cares? I think I'm going early anyway. Went to doc today...said I'm a wee bit dilated and my cervix is kinda like mush...YAY. He also told me I lost another pound--that makes my total gain 7 pounds for the entire pregnancy. But he says the baby's growing at the normal rate, so nothing to worry about. I dunno--maybe it has something to do with all the stress I'm under with work and all.
Speaking of, no word on my status yet...I'm sitting here wondering what's going on, being that today's my three-year anniversary--also the end of my term. Yesterday I asked someone who was made permanent last year when he was notified--he was told a few days before his anniversary...uh oh. I'm still holding out hope that I'll get let go or something--the travel is still killing me financially, not to mention what it's doing to the car. I'm waiting for the day it conks out on me either on the way down (so I get written up), or on the way home (really late at night..say midnight or 1am).
The latter already happened about two weeks ago...got a flat tire about 3/4 of the way home. At about one in the morning. Made it to a Turkey Hill (convenience store) where there were three--yup, three--cops sitting there. You know not one of them wanted to help a visibly pregnant girl change or fix a tire?!? The older two cops "volunteered" the younger one to see what he could do. He came out to the car, tried to put air into it, then realizied the hole in the tire was big (well, I did see a nail in there about a week earlier...must've popped out on the highway...oops). Then he "tried" to get the lug nuts off to change it...gave up after about one try, and told me to get fix-a-flat. Then LEFT me there, with the car still on the damn jack. Luckily, some nice 19-year-old guy named Michael stopped for gas and saw what happened. He came over and changed the tire for me (and had no problem getting the nuts off)...didn't ask for anything in return. Cool.
But anyway--now you kind of see why I'm just a little stressed out--sometimes I'm just sitting here and start thinking...and tears start forming. Maybe it's the prego thing, but this isn't the first time this happened...now it's a little worse. And I wasn't with bun in oven two years ago. Who knows.....

eviction!
Well, it's down to the last month now...I gave the baby his 30-day notice to get the f*ck out. I think I'm gonna go early though. Of course, I don't look like I'm about to have a baby in less than a month--I'm lucky if I look 6 months along. No, really--I've only gained a total of 8 pounds...actually I gained 11 and lost 3. The OB says it's okay though...in fact, he's calling me a textbook pregnancy. I can't (and won't) argue with that.
The only problem I have now is that I'm travelling about 20 miles (each way) to work now. Oh yeah--forgot to mention that they closed our office two weeks ago and therefore transferred all 16 of us to the Wilkes-Barre office. It's only for a month though--I go on maternity leave at the end of April. And who knows--I might not even have a job after this Thursday anyway--my three-year term is up then, and from what I see, it's still up in the air what, if anything, they're going to do with me. I haven't heard anything yet...the last time that happened, all 12 people who hit their term were let go the next day. At this point, I don't really care anyway...as someone said to me the other day, there is life after Verizon. We shall see, I guess.
I had my baby shower the other day too. I know, I know--I shouldn't have one, since this is my 3rd child...but keep in mind, I didn't have one with either of the other two. Got lots of stuff...and had lots of fun.
If you want to see the rest of the pics, you can go to my MySpace and check them out.
Gotta go eat now--baby's kicking the crap out of me--usually means he's hungry...lol.

woohoo
As you can see from the title, I'm in a good mood. He's home--his plane came in Wednesday night. With him he brought one hell of a flu strain...he had such a high fever that he thought he was seeing bugs on the walls (the kids thought he was nuts), and doesn't remember any of Friday morning. He's better now, but he passed it on to Bum. Yay.
Anyhoo, now we're thinking about how to do the wedding...I know--9 years of being engaged is long enough. We don't want anything big...just a small family and friends thing.
As far as the baby, 30 weeks now and it never stops kicking...I think I'll keep ya in suspense for a teeny while longer....

still waiting
Once again, it's 12 hours and counting. After bitching to the United Airlines agent last night (it was their fault he wasn't home y'day), they finally booked him on an American Airlines flight for 4:30 this afternoon. Then he'll connect in Chicago, and come home. His friend gets out of work at 2pm, and they'll drive 1 1/2 hours to the airport in Cedar Rapids. I'm not thinking positive about this. In fact, until I hear from him that he's on the plane from Chicago to Scranton, I'm still thinking that he's not coming home today. I'm tired of thinking that he's coming home today, only to be disappointed and stressed out when I hear that he's not. I'm watching the websites of both airlines like a hawk today. So far, so good--they're still on time. But like I said, I'm not celebrating until he's on that connecting flight. Wish him luck.

help me
I'm THISCLOSE to tears now...he's not home yet...who knows at this point when he will be. His flight to AVP (Scranton) got cancelled due to crew problems (whatever that means...Brandi!), so I booked him on a flight to Allentown, 2 hours away. When the time came to get to the airport in Cedar Rapids, there was a jackknifed tractor trailer on the highway, and traffic was at a standstill. Couldn't make it to the airport. Had to reschedule....AGAIN. Tomorrow. Did that, but now he can't make it to the airport for 3:00pm, due to his friend having to work. Right now I'm trying to reschedule another flight...wish me luck and...I NEVER ask for this...pray for me (since He doesn't like me...). I'm desperate here. I'm losing my mind faster than...than...I dunno. SEE?!? Help me...I'm going doooooooooowwwwwwwwwwn...
til next time...=) <~~trying to, anyway
exactly twelve hours and counting
I can't wait. He called me at 6:00 this morning to tell me he was thinking of me...we talked on the phone for nearly two hours. Most of which was saying how much we missed each other. And how soon we can get married. And other things. I'm probably going to jump on him at the airport. Just maul* the crap out of him. And who knows what'll happen tomorrow, being that I'm off and the kids will be at school....lol. Gotta make up for lost time, you know. I know it's been just 9 days, but it feels like forever. It's the longest we've ever been apart in 11 years.

*maul--kiss and hug until he pleads and begs for mercy.

why
Right now I'm sitting here wondering why.
Why does everything I do have to be a challenge? Why is it that everything that should come easy, has to have some sort of catch to it? Why do God and Mother Nature hate me? Why can't something good happen, without something going wrong first? Why can't things ever go as planned? Why do I feel like I can't get anything right? Why do I have to work harder to get what I want? Why do I feel as if I have to seriously struggle to get things to go in my favor? What did I do to become forever doomed? Why me?
Why am I saying all of this? He's not home yet...not til Tuesday now. He was supposed to come home tonight (within the hour, to be exact), but Mother Nature had other plans...

one more day
And he comes home!! I've been going nuts without him here. Otherwise it's been a boring week. The kids only had one full day of school, due to mother nature. I made 4 dozen brownie cups for Valentine's Day (which was the only full day they had). That's the most I did all week. Today I have to go to work...ewwwwwww. Then tomorrow night (about midnight, if his flights aren't delayed) I pick him up at the airport. YAY!
OH OH OH...one more thing--before he left, he said because he was going to a wedding, he might come back inspired. Well guess what--I got my engagement ring back!

he's goooooooooone
Yup...for the week. His flight left at 6:53 am. He's on his way to Iowa for a wedding. Just getting him to the airport was an adventure in itself. Got up at 3:30am, he was up and ready by 4:45. I started the car around the same time to warm it up--it got a little too warm. Meaning it was thisclose to overheating. At 5am. A block away from the house. 20 minutes away from the airport. Icy roads and fog. Now snow. Uh-oh. What to do, what to do...I called my neighbor, Julie. (You know, the one I raved about a year ago for helping us move...) Don't you know she got up, warmed up her car and took us up there in whiteout conditions without hesitation? Yup...she did.
Anyhoo, he got checked in and through security in record time...about 20 minutes. And that was with going through security twice--he had to put something from his carry-on into his other bag. Then he found out he got a window seat. After that, the announcement came over that they had to de-ice the plane. Keep in mind, this is his first time flying...
He should be landing in Chicago around 9:15 my time to wait almost 4 hours for his connecting flight...I'll keep ya posted.

As you can see, I got a scanner packaged with the puter...WOOHOO!
As for baby news, I'm 26 weeks now, and it's like the Energizer Bunny...keeps going and going and going. By the way, we know what it is...wanna know? ....hmmm, i dunno....maybe I'll keep ya in suspense....then again, if I tell ya, you can help narrow the name down to one....well....let me see....it's a boy....no wait, it's a girl....then again, it might be twins.....you know, I can show an ultrasound pic now that I can scan it....
