my day, part 3

Okay...hopefully I can finish my story in this one.

Joey said he would talk to "owner" (I still don't know his name) after he took Home Fry to school.  He also called the local magistrate to see if he could keep the money we gave him (they said NO).  We also thought about putting a "stop payment" on the check I wrote, since it hadn't cleared yet.  So I went to work, and I told him I would call him on my break to find out what was happening.  When I did call, there was nothing going on--owner left for the day.  I hung up with Joey, and my next phone call was to the bank...I'd rather lose $25 (the stop payment fee) than lose $200.  I know I wouldn't be actually losing it, but we need it now to pay the rent here.

As soon as I hang up the phone, the phone rings again...it's the bank calling back, saying they're having a problem with the stop payment.  They need to know who the check is made out to...I tell them I don't know, since I didn't write his name in or anything.  I wrote the check out, leaving the name blank, and gave it to Joey to give to owner.  So they were like ok, we'll see what we can do.  So I went back to work, thinking everything was okey dokey.  I thought wrong.  I was taking calls for about 5 minutes, and someone comes in with a message saying that the bank called, and they need for me to call them back.  What?  So I took a pee break and called them back--they told me they really couldn't do it without knowing who it was made out to.  HUH?  You know the check number, what more do you need?  So I told them to forget it, and went back to work.

damn...part 4 in a few.

my day, part 2

Sorry about that--it won't let me put that much into one IM, so I had to continue it here.  Anyway, on to the rest of the day...

I went back home and told Joey what I had been told, and he was FURIOUS.  He did not like what I had to say, and eventually I went back over there, and told him what we were thinking.  I asked him about what he had said less than a week ago, saying we could make payments on the security.  He said, "I'm executing my right to change my mind."  And he also said he wouldn't (and didn't have to) give us back our down payment.  WHAT THE FUCK?!?  We went on, going back and forth about this, and he came to the conclusion that he would think about it and let us know in the afternoon.  Okay, I thought, and went home.  Again, I told Joey what was said, and he again didn't like what was happening.  Dammit, I have to do a part 3...

my day

This isn't so bad...actually it's a little easier than I thought. Anyway, I have a story to tell about today...

The other day, the owner of the new house came over to see if Joey wanted to come and work some of the security off by painting some rooms in the house.  He agreed, and he was supposed to go over yesterday, only the guy never came over for him.  So this morning, owner wanted me to come and see what else I wanted done in the basement.  I went to see what was going on, and I got to see the new walls in the basement.  They looked good!  The kids will love this, I thought.  Then as we were shooting the shit, he mentioned that he wanted the whole amount ($1100) before we moved in.  I'm thinking, is this guy nuts?  There's NO WAY I'm coming up with the remaining $900 in less than 3 weeks, not to mention Christmas in there.  Continued in part two.

this sucks

Hi there...sorry I haven't posted in a few days...something's wrong with my javascript, and I can't post through my journal. I'm trying to post through the IM...hopefully it'll look right. What's worse is I can't edit it once it goes through. Grrrrrr.

hi 5

Here's my answers to this week's 5'er from Robin...

1.  Where is the furthest you have traveled for Christmas and will you be traveling this year?

I would have to say the furthest I've traveled for Christmas was when I was in college--about 2 1/2 hours away.  No traveling this year--everyone's close.

  2.  Do you celebrate any other holiday this month? Kw? Chanuk? Festivus?

 Just Christmas...

3. Who is the hardest person to shop for on your Christmas list and why do you think they are so hard to buy for?

My father-in-law...he doesn't talk too much, so it's hard to figure out what he wants.  The only thing I really hear him talk about is boobies (he's known as "the boob man" at his job at a hospital), and I can't get him something like that...lmao.

4. How old were you when you stopped believing in Santa? Extra credit if you have a picture of you with Santa!

I think I was about 9 when I stopped believing.  I don't have a pic of me with Santa, but I have one with Santa and the kids!

5. Fill in the blank;   For me Christmas just wouldn't be the same without _______?

Hmmm...my kids, and how they go nuts on Christmas morning.

too funny

When Joey took the check over to the owner, Bum and Home Fry went for the walk with him.  Joey told her we got the house across the street, and Bum said, "Isn't that the one the girl downstairs is moving into?"  Joey told her it was, but the owner decided to give it to us instead.  Bum's response?

"Oooooh...I like that dude already."

Later, she was talking to Joey, and she said we were like Eddie Guererro (if you watch WWE, you'll get this one)--we lie, we cheat and we steal.  Joey asked her what we steal...she said, "Houses!"

Where she gets this stuff, I have no idea...maybe from her smartass dad...lol.

pack it up!

The KKMom house is really jumping for joy now...WE'RE MOVING!  Remember I said yesterday about the girl downstairs moving across the street?  Well, yesterday I went and asked about the other side of the duplex, and the owner said it was only a two-bedroom.  This morning, while we were outside smoking, that same owner came over and was talking with us about the house.  He told us he saw us working outside, and he liked the fact that we took care of the house.  He also wanted us to look at the apartment.  It's a 3-bedroom--exactly what we need.

While over there, he was telling us he didn't really want to rent it to the girl, but was only doing it so he could start making money on the house (he just put about 2 months of renovations into it, so I could understand that).  He also said he would probably evicting her within the year, so he didn't really want to waste his time, either.  She had the money for the down payment for him, but he said if we came up with just $100, he would give it to us!  So I'm going to write the check for it this afternoon!  He said he'll work with us for the security, so that's good.  We're going to move in next month--enough time for us to pack.  She's most likely gonna be PISSED...but oh well.

WOOHOO!!!!!!!!
