carnivAOL's on its way

I'm sitting here writing my edition of CarnivAOL™, eating a banana choco chip muffin.  Actually, I've been working on it most of the weekend, adding to it as I get entries for submission.  All I have to do now is add the links, and that's it...done!  Thanks for all the submissions...there's at least ten of them.  It should be a good edition.

Good thing--I think I'm starting to get sick...with whatever my kids have had for the past week.  Bum didn't get it that bad, but Dude's been puking the past 3 nights...including at Mema's house.  When he went up there on Saturday, he said he was going to puke on her couch...and that night, he did just that...lmao.  He stayed home today...he's sitting next to me on my bed watching TV.

I have a dentist appointment later today...yay.  Figures I start to get sick when I have to go back to work tomorrow.  Oh well--I'll just puke on a monitor or something...lol.  You think they'll send me home then?

what i see on vacation, part 6

Okay--my vacation's almost over, and I hadn't baked anything...until this morning.

Mmmmmmmmm...cinnamon streusel muffins.  The only reason I make so many muffins is simple--I don't have a loaf pan...lol.  But they come out so awesome...so why mess with a good thing?  The icing is from scratch...just some powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla.  Again...mmmmmmmmm.

I made some banana chocolate chip ones too, but forgot to take pics.  Maybe later, if they last that long.

what i see on vacation, part 5

This is Max.  Joey named him, since I got to name Princess.  He's a full-breed (?) pomeranian, and he's four months old.  As big as he is, that's about as big as he's gonna get.  He's afraid of steps, which is a good thing here--won't have to worry about him running away...lol.  Took him to the pet store the other day, and he found a toy he liked.  Squeaky.  Squeezed it in the store, and he went nuts...so we just had to get it for him.

what i see on vacation, part 4

This is what I saw the other day while looking out my window...

About damn time...the city finally got around to clearing my street.  I mean the WHOLE THING--you know, so people could park on it?  LOL.  Two weeks...funny.

baby you can have my car

Weekend Assignment #154: Your Car or Your Computer: You must pick only one. Which one do you choose?

Yes! You must choose between the car -- beloved icon of American greatness and freedom -- and the computer -- the defining machine of the 21st century. If you choose the car, you do not get to touch a computer again, except for basic work-related purposes at work. If you choose the computer, no more personal wheels for you. And for those of you in a two-car family, there's none of this "oh, I'll just ride in my spouse's car" stuff: Any rides you bum have to be outside your immediate family. Similarly, no using the spouse's or kid's computers, and those of you with super-enabled cell phones will henceforth use them only for phone calls. No Web-browsing, e-mail or text messaging. See, now it's gotten harder, hasn't it?

Extra Credit: Which was more expensive: Your first car, or your most recent computer?

I would have to choose the computer.  With it, I pay my bills, upload my pictures, get more mail than I get in a physical mailbox (and no junk mail!), and I get to write in my journal, for all to see.  The car, well, I can do without it, being that I'm close to everything...a block away from a supermarket and my bank.  A block away from the kids' school.  2 blocks from the drugstore.  A Burger King, Blockbuster, and two dollar stores, all within 5 minutes walking time.  Work--about 1/2 hour walk, or I can take the bus...which its stop is 1/2 block away.  I also know I can go without a car living here, because we did it last year for 6 months, and had no real problems.  So the car can go.

The extra credit goes like this:  I paid $475 for my first car...the computer I have now was given to us...that should answer that question...lol.

This is what I want for my b'day.  I know it's 3 months away, but it's a big one this year...30!  They're pillows!  I found them here, via Slashfood.
