i'm it

I knew this was going to happen...eventually.  Thanks to Leslie, I've been officially tagged for this.  She didn't actually leave a comment like she was supposed to (bad her), but since I get an alert for her journal...duh.  Anyway...

Five weird things about ME:   Here are the rules; the first player of this game starts with the topic. Five weird habits of yourself and people who get tagged need to write an entry about their five weird habits as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next five people to be tagged and link to their web journals. Don’t forget to leave a comment in their blog or journal that says “You are tagged” (assuming they take comments) and tell them to read yours.

Here we go...

1.  I am definitely, without a doubt, a packrat.  I still have a stereo from my 16th birthday (and it still works), a teddy bear from Christmas 20 years ago, my high school honor society sweatshirt (which is all sorts of yuck now), and other things that I should have got rid of years ago.  But I just won't.  HA.

2.  I am very picky with what I eat, in a strange way.  Example--I hate cheese, but I'll eat Cheez Doodles, mozzarella sticks, and pizza.  Same thing with tomatoes--I'll eat sauce, but not the round, red, raw thing.  Ewww.

3.  I don't bite my nails, I rip them right off.  Sometimes to the point of blood in the corners...you know, the end where it comes off.  Maybe that's my nervousness talking.  Who knows.

4.  Like Leslie, I talk to myself, and answer too.  And I feel like a complete idiot if I'm caught.

5.  I have no patience when it comes to my kids, but with someone else's I do.  You'd think it would be the other way around, but nope.  Maybe that should be one of my resolutions this year...lol.

So there...that's my 5.  Now who to pick on.  Hopefully these people didn't do it yet...

resolution assignment

Weekend Assignment 92: Do you Have New Year's Resolutions for 2006? If so, share one (or more, if you like).

Extra Credit:
How did you do on your resolutions for 2005?

I usually don't do resolutions, only because I end up not keeping them.  But for assignment's sake, I think I'll do it this year.   Here we go...

1.  I will get a decent job this year--not one that's going to eventually screw me over, transfer me out of my transportation league, mess with my schedule after I get used to it, etc.

2.  I will get my teeth fixed.  This one I definitely have to do, since my 11-year (!) reunion is being planned for either May or July.

3.  I will stop worrying about EVERYTHING.

Phew!  That took a lot of thinking.  Hopefully I'll stick to them...

For the extra credit, as I said before, I didn't make any resolutions last year, because I knew I wouldn't do them.  A few years back, my resolution was to pay off my debts and make my credit record look good.  By February, I gave up...it was too much.  Oh well...

wireless 411 fun

I was reading back entries of Surrounded By Nincompoops when I stumbled across this entry -- Did Your Ass Just Dial My Number? -- and it got me thinking.  So many asses call me at work (wireless 411).  And not just the rearend...lol.  I think there's one reason why I like my job--there are people out there who are more weird and stupid than I am.  It's funny...just thinking about it.  Here's some.

Example #1

Are you sure the number's not there?

a. I got the number yesterday.

b. I was just there.

c. I'm sitting right in front of it!

Example #2

Me:  Do you know what city in Long Island "Whatever" is in?

Duh:  Sunrise Highway.

Me:  No, not the street it's on--what city?

Duh:  Long Island, Sunrise Highway.

(Duh eventually gave up.  Without a number.)

Example #3

(Keep in mind, we don't have maps, and we're not in the city they're calling for.)

I need...

a. Papa John's, Domino's, Cici's, Roundtable, Pizza Hut, etc.

b. Walgreens, CVS, Long's, Eckerd, etc.

c. Walmart, Target, Meijer, Home Depot, Lowe's, etc.

d. McD's, Burger King, Hardee's, Wendy's, KFC, etc.

...closest to where I am.  Do you have the number?

(I can go on and on with this one.)

Example #4

You Southerners, such as Brandi (ya know I luv ya hun), might get a kick out of this one:

DO WHAT NOW? (I think it's cute...especially with the drawl...I hope I'm not offending anyone with this)

There's more, but I can't think of them...when I do, I'll be sure to post.

ho hum

Sorry I haven't updated in a few days...you know, it helps if there were things going on.  It's been boring here in the KKMom house--I've been working, the kids weren't home until this afternoon, and well, that's about it.  This weekend, however, is different...lol.  Tomorrow, the kids are going back to Grandma's so they can go the New York City for the day on Friday with Grandma, Papa, and Uncle Mark...they better bring back some good pics--he's the one with the nice camera I was drooling over the last week.

Then on Saturday, we're going to First Night Scranton (check out the link)...something different that we can do with the kids.  I have to work until about 8pm, so Joey's going to bring them down early and kick off without me...then when I get free from hell with fluorescent lighting, we'll go eat and do stuff.  Yay!  Can't wait.

the rest of the holiday

Hope everyone had a good holiday...no--Christmas.  Ours was good...after I wrote the entry yesterday, we went up to the in-laws' house.  We were there the majority of the day--we didn't get home until about midnight.  We opened some presents, ate some food, and fun was had by all.  All the family gathers there for the holidays, and yesterday was no exception.  Joey's always-complaining-about-something aunt was there, and she told us the reason it was raining (yup, we had a little bit of a green Christmas) was because we sent her a Christmas card in the mail.  The Thanksgiving twit was there, only she wasn't so much of a twit this time around.  The rest of his cousins were there, too, making it interesting at the house.

His one brother brought his 4-year-old daughter, who in my book is very ungrateful.  When Grandma gave her presents, she said she didn't want them.  When Joey's cousin gave her a Cabbage Patch Kid, she said the same thing.  (Of course, Bum spoke up and said she'd take it..lol.)  She doesn't talk to anyone, sometimes not even her dad.  She lives with her mom, and who knows what she's putting into that little girl's head.  She might be my niece, but I won't get her anything anymore...last year she did that to what we brought for her...she tossed it aside, with no thank you, no nothing.  My kids NEVER did that--they were taught better.

Anyway, towards the end of the night, Joey and I were watching TV, and one of his cousins brings me a picture of Joey when he was little...oh my god--Home Fry looks just like him--blond hair and all.  That was it--we all (with the exception of Joey...he hates his pic taken, therefore he hates when people look at pics of him too) were going through his mom's collection of photos.  We were all laughing at some of them...they were from the 80s and earlier...too funny.  I also found a few of the kids I'm gonna get scanned.  No pics of Joey, though...he would kick my butt if I did that..lol.

So now the kids stayed at Grandma's house, and we're left to clean the mess left here.  I'm not kidding--it looks like a toy cyclone hit our living room.  Fun.

ho ho ho

The kids are playing with their new toys, so I decided to come on and say hi.  I've been up since the crack of dawn...no, wait a minute--the sun wasn't up yet when I heard the words "SANTA WAS HERE!".  Looked at the clock--6:00am.  Oy.  Of course, it didn't help that we set the alarm for that time.  Bum opened her gifts first...she got a Cabbage Patch Kid, a huge butterfly coloring book and crayons, the Bratz Fashion Mall that she wanted, and some other stuff.  After she opened everything, Dad started putting it all together.  Home Fry didn't get up til about 8.  He's been a little under the weather, so that was to be expected.  When I saw him moving around in bed, I went in there and told him it was Christmas, and he perked right up and ran into the living room to see what Santa left for him.  He got the wrestling ring, a remote control dinosaur and cars, a big dinosaur coloring book, and more.  They were both happy with what they got, and they haven't gone to Grandma's house yet, where more gifts await them.  The happiness came as a surprise, especially with Bum.  Last year, she received more, including a bike, but wasn't too happy.  This year, she hasn't stopped playing with anything--yet.  And if they're happy, I'm happy.  As the saying goes, 'tis better to give than to receive.  Me and Joey kicked some serious Christmas butt.  Yay.

Hope your day is going as well as mine.  Merry merry, all.
