Just some pics to start off the vacation. This was taken the other day...just enjoying the nice fall day.
For the hell of it, took his pic this morning. He HATES it when his hair looks like this.

Did I mention as of 7pm today, I'm officially on vacation? I didn't? Well now I did...lol. Until next Monday. What am I doing for said vacation? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Well, not all week...Halloween's on Tuesday, so trick-or-treating's on the roster that night. Also that day, we have a meeting with the school principal regarding Bum's lack of homework skills, but more on that when I get the details. And Saturday is Joey's birthday, and I hope (hope being the keyword) to take him out for lunch or dinner that day. Then next Monday is parent-teacher conferences. YAY. But other than those things, it's veg time for me. Catch up on the movies I TiVo'd. Spend some time with the terrors--um, I mean kids. Give some love to da man when the terrors aren't here...ooh baby. And I promise to comment somewhere, some day this week...lol.

First of all, some good news and bad news. The good news--the pigeons are gone and the house is sold. The bad news--they raised the rent, and they're not fixing the majority of what's wrong with the house.
The details...
The new owners signed the deed to the house this morning, and already they were here this evening with the new lease. They upped our rent about $100 (figures--just in time for the holidays). Fair market value, I guess. They also wanted $50 security for each pet we had. HA! We already had them, you can't do that. And I told them that. They said ok--new tenants will have to do that. They said they wouldn't replace most of the stuff around the house (like our bathroom sink that we can't turn on because it'll leak into the apartment downstairs), but will fix it. They were here for a while, basically hearing me bitch about the price and negotiating. They wanted to charge more. I told them no, and that we were going to be looking for somewhere else to live. All the while, the real estate agent (who will also be building manager) was here, sticking up for us and trying to get it lowered too. From what I hear, he's STILL trying...lol. Good--someone on our side.
Bottom line...we're looking in the paper tomorrow. I'll keep you posted.
I know Halloween's a few days away, but the kids had their parade and party at school yesterday (it was actually their 2nd party--we went to one the other day). So of course, I took pics before they went.
This is a pic of the bags they made at the first party on Wednesday--Dude's is on the left, Bum's on the right.

How about this one?
I can't decide.
Then again, I noticed the deadline is Friday night...the same day as their Halloween parties at school. Who knows what might happen then...lol.

Was thinking of entering this pic...
...in the Journals Halloween Photo Contest. I wanted to PhotoShop it, but I don't have that to do it. What do you think?

I didn't take any pics today, only because there really wasn't anything to take pics of...lol. Instead, I thought I'd show these.
Below is me in the morning...

Still taking my camera everywhere, and this just proves it...
Sorry about the quality of this one...for some reason it came out REALLY dark, and I seriously had to edit it--twice. The one smiling is Shereen, one of my best buds at work. She out of nowhere started taking pics, and I played along...of course, I'm the only idiot who posted it online...lol.
And this one's just screaming, "TAKE ME HOME". And I'm screaming back, "NO WAY". Another one of Kikko's kids, this one's from another litter (talk about a ladies man), and is the opposite of Sixx, the all black cat. This one's all white, except on its ears and tail, and that's cream color. Again, I'm not taking this one...yet...lol.

Take your camera everywhere week...see Tee for details.
Bum eatin' her Trix. Dry--just the way she likes it.
A better pic of the soon-to-be evicted ones' home, mentioned in my last entry.
And today's snack...hot dogs in crescent rolls, aka pigs in a blanket. Yummy.

Not me....them.
If you can't see them, they're pigeons, and they're unwanted guests who have overstayed their welcome (this pic was taken in May--that part of the roof looks much worse now). Ehrlich is coming to serve the notice Tuesday, in the form of smoking them out of the attic. That's one of the conditions the current owner has to abide by, before the new owners will buy the house. So you know what that means...NEW OWNERS...coming soon! Yay!

Got this from Paul...interesting.
I'm a Chevrolet Corvette!
You're a classic - powerful, athletic, and competitive. You're all about winning the race and getting the job done. While you have a practical everyday side, you get wild when anyone pushes your pedal. You hate to lose, but you hardly ever do.
Take the Which Sports Car Are You? quiz.
til next time...=)This is my view from outside my job. Today sucks, since it was rainy and now it's cold (as you can see from my weather pixie in the sidebar).
This is across the street. Mind you, it's a one-way street, and it's facing the opposite direction...who's going to see this? lol.

Pizza Frita...reminds me of summer festivals. Got the dough from the mother-in-law, and threw it in the fryer. Yum! Want some?

Yes, those are my shoes. I'm calling them poop magnets because in the past 7 days since I bought them, I have stepped in some sort of animal (probably cat) poop 6 times outside my house. And this is only from the car to the porch...about 20 feet. What's worse, twice I didn't notice it until I got to work. Yuck. Just thought you'd like to know.

I forgot I nominated myself...oops. Go check out the rest of the nominees here. Don't ask me why they have the AIM category this year...you can't tell which ones are AIM or AOL. They ALL have the ads on them. Oh well...no argument here. I want a FIFI (for comment whore), but I don't care what I get...lol. You gonna vote for me again? I hope so. I'll do the title proud.

"Take your camera everywhere with you" week.
I am! Not like it's that hard for me--I take my camera with me everywhere ALL THE TIME. I never leave home without it--you never know where or when a photo-op will occur...lol. Here's mine for the day, caught right outside my job, where they're finishing up on the new garage (which I will never use).
My question is...how the hell does the person get down from there???
Since I'm off tomorrow, I'll get more pics.

Now there's a scary sight...lol. Actually, this is the tamest one I have...there is worse. That's me 13 years ago, when I was 15 (it's definitely dated--I have an IOU shirt on...remember those?). My neighbor scanned it for me. Now if I can only con my sis into giving me one of my senior pics...
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

The Halloween spirit, that is. Just like the new paint job on the journal home, I've been doing a little decorating outside the real house too. Went to Party City the other day to get the kids' costumes, and picked up some black and orange light bulbs, as well as some spider webs. They were on sale--couldn't pass them up. So how does it look so far?
You can't see the spider webs well, but they're on the door where the screen should be, too. The "Scary Movie" thing hanging was Dude's costume a couple years ago...Joey's going to tweak it tomorrow. And I don't think we're done yet...
til next time...=)
All went well today, despite a late start. Getting balloons from Party City turned out to be my downfall, since that put me behind for everything else, including getting to the party on time. But once that was on, it couldn't have gone any smoother. Everyone had a good time, including the parents. The only thing is...I haven't paid for it yet. I forgot my checkbook, and had to run home for it. When I got back, the lifeguards were gone. FREE PARTY!! Lol...just kidding--I'm going to call Monday. That would be nice though...
The best part of my day was this...
Well, actually what he said. ("I love my party.")
til next time...=)
You know how I've been mentioning that Joey's pool party is tomorrow, right? The cake's ordered, new batteries are in the camera, the RSVPs are in, and (hopefully) everyone knows where to go. Well, there was one thing I forgot to do, but my neighbor (kind of) reminded me...I need to shave one more time before the winter sets in. Sigh. I know that sounds kinda bad, but for one who doesn't wear dresses (me), it doesn't make sense to do so...unless I want a little sum'n sum'n. Then I will. But other than that occasion, during the winter you can mistake me for Sasquatch or something...lol. Actually, not that bad...the hair's blonde, so it's not THAT noticeable. Anyhoo, just thought I'd leave you with that for today...lol.
til next time...=)
You know the deal...make an entry with the same title, and go visit everyone, leaving comments (and a link to your own entry) along the way. Go now. Whatcha waitin' for???
BTW...don't forget the technorati tag...
Here's some actual listings either me or my co-workers have had the fun of looking up. (And these are the ones we found...imagine the ones we didn't.)
--Kum & Go...somewhere in Iowa. Sorry, it just sounds bad.
--Last name Begay...in Colorado. It's pronounced like...well, use your imagination.
--Sal's Inflatable Services...in California. The man who was looking for it said they do things with the Coast Guard. I know--I have a dirty mind.
Ok, enough of those for now...on to some other things. I need to write something up about the ins and outs of 411 or something. Why? Here's an example:
Rule #1: We CAN hear what you say to the recording. Whether it's the listing you're looking for, what you did last night, what new curse word you learned (and are now using to mouth off to the recording), etc., we hear most if not all of it.
Example: What I hear from the recording--Manhattan, New York--Douchebag...me, "I'm sorry, for what listing?"...stupid ass, "Lucien, in Manhattan."...me, "Oh, I thought I heard you say something else in the recording."...*silence* lmao.
So instead of making an ass out of yourself, here's my advice.
Just say what you're looking for. It'll be easier for us to find it if the voice activation doesn't understand you.
Pay attention to what the recording is saying, since it will save you some precious airtime. Your convo with *insert person here* can wait a minute.
Don't try to talk with food (or anything else) in your mouth. Listen to your mom. Once again, it makes our job easier, and faster for you to get on your way.
There. I'm going to bed now.

Joey (the older one) has been having some pain in his tummy today. He thinks it's kidney stones, but he can't go to the doc, since he has no insurance. I have insurance from work. We're not married...that's why he's not on there already. But in order to put him on it, we have to sign a common law certificate (PA law).
This is the kicker--when asked if he would sign the papers so I could put him on, this is what he says: "I'd rather be in the pain I'm in now, than be in the pain if I signed that paper."
Suffer then, bastard--lol. I wanted to make some more pain for him, but I changed my mind...lol.
til next time...=)
Now I'm sick. I got whatever the hell Bum had that kept her home from school for two days. Unfortunalely for me, I can't stay home from work--I'll get suspended again. It hit me when I went into work earlier, and it's just gotten worse as the night goes on. Hot. Cold. Sniff. Ouch. DAMN.
til next time...=)
Why? Because it does. How do I know? Let me tell ya....
The other day, Joey told me he had an interview at Mohegan Sun today at 6pm (it's about a 20 min. drive from here). I couldn't get it off, since we manditorily (is that a word?) have Sundays off, and I had already requested Saturday for Dude's (little Joey) party. So I told him I would sign for e-time* for today. So the other day, I did, and I was at the top of the list. Cool. This morning, I got a call from work saying they had from 11:00 to 5:15 to give me (I work 11-7), so I took it, in hopes that they would call me later in the day to let me know I got the rest. No call came. So I called them, and they said that I had to be there. Damn. I am not a happy camper. I felt so bad about it. So I go into work at 5:15, and an hour later (actually 6:30), they tell me I can go home for the day. How ironic. The only reason I signed the e-time sheet was so I could possibly get the last 2 hours of my shift off. I get everything but. Joey actually took it well, thinking that he just wasn't meant to get that job. DAMN.
*e-time--I work in directory assistance (this might apply to any customer service, too--I dunno). There's this thing called "Force", who determines how many people are needed online (taking calls) during each 15-minute interval of the day. If there are too many people scheduled for said interval, they take people off. That's what e-time is. People sign up for this, in hopes to come in late, go home early, or just get a extra break or two during the day. It works like first come, first serve...if you have the right schedule, that is. Example--if "Person A" is working 9-5 and is number one on the list and wants to go home, but there's e-time only until 4:45, that person not going anywhere. But if "Person B" is waaaaaaay down on the list, but fits the chunk of e-time they have to offer, they'll give it to them instead. Do you get it? I'm glad I confused you.

Look what we got!
This is Pookie. Everyone welcome him to the family now...

Just in case you were wondering, the cupcakes were BLUE. See?
For Dude, of course (he took them to school this morning--his b'day is Sunday). And yes, that's an ice cream scoop in there--it's the perfect tool for scooping batter.
