play postponed

This morning was Home Fry's play.  Joey's mom came, and brought his brother's camera...I'm jealous!  It's one of those ones I want...optical zoom, etc.  Grrrr.  Anyway, we got there on time, pulled Bum out of class to see her little brother be Santa.  He wanted her there too.  All the parents had to wait in the foyer, since Mrs. Guerra (their teacher) didn't want the parents to see what was going on yet.  There were so many people there, it was a surprise that everyone fit into the classroom.  Finally, we were allowed in, and we all sat down.  They all looked so cute, in their soldier, snowflake, and other costumes.  Home Fry was soooooo adorable!

Unfortunately, about 5 minutes into it, one of the kids collapsed.  It was Sarah, one of Home Fry's buddies.  She started having a seizure.  Immediately, the other kids were rushed out of the room.  Joey told me to grab Bum and get the hell out of there--she didn't need to see that either.  We waited out in the hallway--the kids were in another room reading a story, with really no knowledge as to what was going on (which is very good--duh).  A few minutes later, the parents were all coming out of the room, saying she was turning blue.  Some of the parents were crying, some were in just plain shock, including me.  Long story short, the nurse gave her CPR, the paramedics came, and she was ok.  We had the option of taking Home Fry home, but we thought that taking him out would raise questions with him, so we decided to leave him there.  As were leaving, we found out that Sarah was still in a seizure state, but she was going to be okay.  Mrs. Guerra also told us that they were going on with the show tomorrow.  I'm going to try and call her mom tomorrow to see how she's doing.  I'll update when I get more info.  In the meantime, I know you don't know her, but keep her in your hearts...

til next time...=)
